Oliver Gosling

He lived in Tokyo for two years (1998-2000) and in Chongqing, China for seven and a half years from 2008.   Living in Chongqing was a rich and rewarding experience and he became immersed in an ever growing and diverse contemporary art scene. In the 21st century, in a vast, but little known Chinese city, growing at ferocious speed and confronting the economic and cultural challenges of such super-fast urbanisation, he noticed that questions of identity, dislocation and loss inevitably arise.
